We are currently seeking a Refuse Driver to join a dedicated waste and recycling team in Brighton. This role involves driving a refuse collection vehicle as part of a crew responsible for collecting household waste and recycling from residential properties across the city.

You’ll play a vital role in keeping the community clean and safe while delivering a high standard of service to the public.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive and operate a refuse collection vehicle (Class 2/HGV) safely and efficiently

*

Work as part of a crew to complete daily collection rounds

*

Assist with loading when necessary, especially in narrow or difficult areas

*

Follow planned routes and schedules provided by the supervisor

*

Complete vehicle checks and report defects in line with regulations

*

Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times

*

Provide friendly and professional service to the public

Requirements:

*

Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence

*

CPC and Digital Tachograph Card

*

6 months previous experience in waste collection or driving large vehicles preferred

*

Good knowledge of local roads and routes in Brighton desirable

*

Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player

*

Willingness to assist with physical duties as required

*

Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
