Team: Overseeing a part-time Payroll Assistant

? The Opportunity

This is a hands-on client payroll role, perfect for a strong payroll specialist who enjoys managing their own portfolio. You’ll oversee a varied client base, with support from a part-time Payroll Assistant, in a friendly and professional environment.

? Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of ~150 payroll clients (1–40 employees per client)

*

Process weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time

*

Oversee pension submissions and CIS submissions

*

Prepare payroll journals

*

Support clients with holiday pay tracking and statutory calculations (SMP, redundancy, etc.)

*

Ensure payroll reports are produced and submitted to a high standard

*

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation (NMW, SSP, SMP, etc.)

*

Build and maintain strong client relationships

*

Oversee and support a part-time Payroll Assistant

Proven experience as a payroll professional

Strong client payroll / bureau background

*

Comfortable managing multiple clients and deadlines

*

Confident using payroll software

*

CIS experience desirable

*

Highly organised, accurate, and detail-focused
