Office location: Maidenhead / Bracknell boarders
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: Basic Salary + Commission + Benefits, depending on experience OTE 50k-80K

Company Overview

Our client is a medium-sized residential main contractor delivering high-end residential projects across London and the South of England. Project values range from £3m to £10m and encompass the full design and build process—from land sourcing and planning to final construction. Known for their turnkey solutions and highly collaborative in-house team, they are expanding their commercial operations and seeking a strategic and ambitious Business Development Manager.

Role Summary

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new opportunities, cultivating high-value relationships, and strengthening the business’s position within the high-end residential development market. You will play a central role in growing the company’s land pipeline and client base, while supporting strategic expansion across key regions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Lead Generation

* Maintain and manage a live database of contacts including developers, agents, and potential clients.

* Conduct targeted outreach through cold calling, personalised email campaigns, and follow-ups to generate new business.

* Identify key projects and market movements using internal tools and external platforms (e.g. planning portals, property databases).

* Convert inbound enquiries into qualified leads by responding promptly, understanding client needs, and presenting relevant solutions.

* Track and report on sales activity and lead conversion rates, contributing to overall pipeline visibility and forecasting.

Marketing & Brand Support

* Assist in the delivery and coordination of marketing and branding initiatives across digital and offline channels.

* Support the planning and execution of high-profile events, launches, and client-facing functions to elevate brand presence.

* Work closely with the Chairman, CEO, and brand ambassadors to ensure brand messaging is consistent, engaging, and aligned with company values.

* Play a pivotal, hands-on role in shaping brand perception and outreach strategy, offering input and insight without holding sole responsibility for execution.

* Contribute to content creation, campaign planning, and social media coordination to support lead generation and business growth.

Account Management & Networking

* Proactively manage and nurture relationships with existing clients and contacts to uncover new business opportunities.

* Maintain regular communication with key accounts to ensure satisfaction, repeat business, and early insight into upcoming projects.

* Attend industry networking events, client meetings, and property forums to represent the business and expand the professional network.

* Act as a trusted advisor to long-standing partners, offering insights and solutions aligned with their development goals.

* Leverage existing relationships to generate referrals, secure introductions, and maintain a strong presence in the high-end residential market.

Relationship Management

* Maintain and grow relationships with architects, employers agents, portfolio managers and any other influential contacts.

* Initially acting as a key point of contact for the onboarding clients new projects.

* Represent the business at meetings, events, and industry functions.

Market Intelligence

* Conduct ongoing research into market trends, planning approvals, competitor knowledge, and competitor activity.

* Provide regular reports and performance updates to the senior leadership team.

Internal Collaboration

* Work closely with senior management team including managing director and CEO.

* Assist with the development of marketing materials, project proposals, and bid documents.

* Instrumental in implementing and maintaining CRM system.

Minimum Skills & Experience Required

* Demonstrable experience in a business development ideally within the construction sector.

* A proven track record of successful introductions that have lead onto new business within the last 12 months.
