Location: Taffs Well - Cardiff
Salary: £18.82 per hour + Enhanced Overtime + £2000 sign on bonus
Hours: 40hrs per week
 
Role of the HGV Technician
Working with a leading transport operator in the Cardiff area who are looking to strengthen their engineering team with an experienced Shift Mechanic / Fitter. If you’re a skilled Engineer with a background in PSV, HGV, this is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term stability, progression, and excellent earning potential.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, thrives in a fast-paced workshop environment, and wants to play a key part in keeping a busy fleet safely on the road.
 
What you’ll do as the HGV Technician

Preventative maintenance, routine servicing and safety inspections
Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic fault finding
Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently
Attending vehicle defects in the depot and roadside when required
Supporting apprentices and contributing to a positive workshop culture
Ensuring all work meets strict safety and compliance standards 
What you’ll need as the HGV Technician

Solid engineering background: HGV or PSV
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) preferred – strong hands-on experience also welcome
Confident diagnosing and repairing a range of mechanical and electrical faults
Safety-focused, reliable and able to work independently
