In a Nutshell…

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Team Manager to join our team within Vistry North West Midlands, at our Wolverhampton office. As our Technical Team Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the technical function on specific projects, ensuring the team delivers the technical function on the assigned projects to the agreed timeframes.

You will manage the process of designing the solution(s) for the project to meet or exceed customers' requirements. To assist in identifying contractual, financial, technical, and operational risks and to find opportunities for value engineering, to minimise risk and maximise gross profit on contracts. To support the project's delivery on time, and to the required quality while maximising gross profit and customers' satisfaction.

You will be part of a team ensuring that all relevant policies including those for SHE, risk management and solution design are followed.

Following the Life of Site procedures, deliver the technical function on each allocated project.
To implement and comply with Vistry SHE policy and procedures, all legal requirements, and best practice within the business unit and areas.
To allocate resources within delegated authorities.
To support the achievement of the annual financial budget (operating profit) for the business unit.
To manage the process of design solutions.
To lead, manage and motivate any internal staff and external consultants on projects to establish their full contribution to the organisation.
To help determine the required design management resources, capability, and competency of staff for the project(s).
To support the winning of new opportunities while minimising risk and maximising gross profit in the management of the design process.
Manage and collate technical information for Planning, Building Control NHBC etc.
To select, propose & appoint competent external design consultants and hold them to account.
To support the process of assessing, preparing (including post-tender activities), validating, adjudication and the final submission of tenders on time and to the required quality.
To manage the process of designing solution(s), to meet or exceed the customers' requirements.
To support the commercial relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors during the project life cycle.
To assess, control and mitigate risks and implement Vistry Partnerships risk policy.
To support the project teams to fulfil contracts safely, on time, and to the required quality while minimising costs. In particular:
to ensure the solution design is in line with the budget, ERs, and design programme.
to conduct design reviews (compliance/buildability etc).
to support value engineering.
to manage the detailed design requirements with consultants and subcontractors.
convene design team meetings and ensure action points/discussions are accurately recorded and closed out.
manage the design approval process.
To propose, investigate, review, and make recommendations of innovative design solutions.
To provide regular and accurate reports for projects.
To develop and build relationships with customers, contractors and subcontractors that support fulfilment of contractual obligations.
Ensure Project Team Meetings are held, minutes are issued and actions recorded.
