An established construction consultancy based in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team and take responsibility for delivering commercial and mixed-use projects across the Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality schemes for a diverse range of private sector clients.
The successful Project Manager will be joining a consultancy known for its director-led service and long-standing relationships with developers, investors and asset managers. With a pipeline of projects ranging from modern commercial offices to urban mixed-use developments, the consultancy offers a rewarding environment for a client-facing Project Manager looking to progress their career on a variety of fast-paced schemes.
This role would suit a Project Manager with strong technical knowledge, confident communication skills and a background in consultancy-based project delivery.
The Project Manager's role
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing new build and refurbishment projects typically ranging from £5 million to £60 million in construction value. You will lead projects from concept through to completion, taking ownership of key milestones including feasibility, planning, procurement, contract administration and handover.
Responsibilities include managing consultant teams, chairing meetings, monitoring progress and programme, and ensuring that quality and cost objectives are met. You will liaise with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle and ensure each scheme is delivered in line with expectations.
The role also offers opportunities to contribute to business development and mentor more junior team members.
The Project Manager
Degree qualified in Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or similar construction-related field
Minimum of three years' experience in a consultancy-based project management role
Experience delivering commercial or mixed-use developments is preferred
Excellent working knowledge of JCT contracts
Strong client management, organisation and leadership skills
Chartered or actively working towards chartership (MRICS, MAPM or MCIOB)
