Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Stoke-on-Trent
Full-Time | Temp to Perm | Must Have Access to Own Vehicle
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive and inclusive school in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position with the opportunity to go temp to perm for the right candidate.
Key Requirements:
* Must have access to your own vehicle
* Must be physically fit and confident in managing challenging behaviour
* Available Monday to Friday on a full-time basis
About the Role:
You will be working with children with complex needs including:
* Autism (ASC)
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
* Behavioural difficulties
* Trauma and attachment issues
As an HLTA, you may lead small group sessions, provide one-to-one support, and step in to cover lessons when needed. This is a rewarding but physically active role that requires patience, empathy, and resilience.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
* A strong understanding of SEN, behaviour support, and trauma-informed approaches
* The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
* A proactive and calm approach to classroom management
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
