GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with an independent, highly successful manufacturing business, in Hereford. We are currently supporting their recruitment for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent contract, maintain and repair the plant and equipment on site through a combination of planned and reactive maintenance.

This position requires an individual that can carry out both mechanical and electrical installations and inspections.

This position is working Monday – Friday 09:00am – 17:00pm offering a salary of £38,650.

Maintenance Engineer main duties:

* Conducting routine inspections of equipment.

* Performing preventative maintenance.

* Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues and correcting them.

* Ensure quick reaction to any breakdowns that occur.

* Maintain key spares for equipment and spare items of equipment.

* Maintain good level of housekeeping in maintenance room.

* Ensure all process equipment is maintained in a safe state.

Maintenance Engineer required skills and experience:

* Previous experience in a maintenance engineer/technician role within an engineering environment

* Excellent knowledge of process equipment

* Good understanding of health and safety requirements.

* Have a proactive approach to site maintenance.

* Be resourceful and self-motivated

* Understanding of Plastic or PVC processes is advantageous.

* Formal maintenance/engineering qualification desirable.

* Electrical Qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent).
