Quantity Surveyor
Location: Colchester (Head Office)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm (40 hours per week)
Holiday: 30 days per year (including Bank Holidays)
Start Date: Immediate start available
Our client is a fast-growing commercial flooring contractor based in Colchester, delivering projects across the UK. They specialise in the supply and installation of soft floor coverings, tiling, and resin flooring for a broad range of commercial clients.
The business forms part of a well-established multidisciplinary construction group, providing end-to-end solutions across commercial construction, M&E, and energy projects.
The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a key position responsible for managing project costs, contracts, and commercial risk while supporting successful project delivery across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in managing costs across the full project lifecycle
*
Prepare, review, and manage subcontractor packages
*
Administer NEC and/or JCT contracts, including valuations, variations, and change control
*
Produce Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
*
Identify and manage project risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies
*
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
*
Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team
About You:
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within commercial flooring projects
*
Working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
*
Strong cost management, forecasting, and reporting skills
*
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
*
Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
