I am currently representing various Local Authorities across the North East, who are seeking to fill multiple vacancies on an initial 6-month temporary contract, with a view to extension or a permanent offer for the right candidates.

We are looking to recruit committed, reliable, and hardworking individuals to join teams in the following roles:

* Environmental Officers

* Refuse Loaders

* Labourers

* Multi-Skilled Trade Operatives

Key Accountabilities (varying by role):

Environmental Officers

* Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure environmental compliance

* Support enforcement actions and respond to public complaints

* Collaborate with other departments and agencies

Refuse Loaders

* Assist with the collection of household and commercial waste

* Operate safely alongside collection vehicles and crews

* Ensure proper disposal and sorting of waste materials

Labourers

* Provide manual support to council teams (e.g. maintenance, clean-up, general tasks)

* Assist with basic repairs, site set-up, or landscaping duties

* Always follow health and safety procedures

Multi-Skilled Trade Operatives

* Carry out maintenance and repair work (e.g. plumbing, joinery, plastering)

* Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks across residential and council properties

* Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

Requirements:

* Relevant experience in the specific role you’re applying for

* A positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic

* Ability to work effectively as part of a team

* Full UK driving licence (advantageous for some roles)
