Job Information
As an Assembly Build Engineer you will be responsible for the mechanical build and assembly of a range of components and systems, working from engineering drawings and specifications. Your day-to-day duties will include:
Assembling mechanical parts and sub-assemblies to precise tolerances
Using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to complete builds
Interpreting and working from technical drawings and build instructions
Performing tasks such as drilling, tapping, bolting, aligning, and general fitting
Ensuring that all work meets quality and safety standards
Working collaboratively with colleagues in the engineering and quality teams
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
Completing relevant documentation and supporting continuous improvement
Key Requirements
To be successful in this Assembly Build Engineer role, you should live within a commutable distance of Rotherham and posses previous experience in a mechanical assembly, fitting or build role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Good hand skills and familiarity with tools and equipment used in mechanical assembly
Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach to your work
A positive attitude, good communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar (desirable but not essential)
Salary and Benefits
The Assembly Build Engineer role offers a competitive salary of £28,000 to £32,000 per annum, depending on experience, and is based on a Monday to Friday dayshift, with no weekend or shift work. There are opportunities for overtime at enhanced rates, along with the security of a long-term, stable position within a well-established and reputable engineering business.
