Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Nights)

Salary: Up to £48,000

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 6:00pm – 6:00am (Nights)

Location: Hayes 

We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team within a modern, fast-paced FMCG production facility. The site operates high-speed packaging machinery and is committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a wide range of high-speed packaging equipment.

Quickly diagnose and resolve process faults that affect efficiency, accuracy, and equipment uptime.

Investigate technical issues such as misfeeds, jams, misaligned products, or packaging defects.

Implement machinery modifications and improvements to reduce downtime and increase throughput.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain engineering standards and support production uptime targets.

Contribute to continuous improvement (CI) projects across the site.

What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in FMCG or other fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environments.

Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and repair capabilities.

Familiarity with modern packaging machinery and a passion for machine performance.

A proactive, curious, and solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

Good communication and team collaboration skills.

Desirable:
NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Experience in a data-driven, continuous improvement-focused engineering culture.
