Production Manager – CNC & Stone Fabrication

About the Role

We’re proud to be working with a fast-growing, dynamic business in the stone fabrication industry to find a skilled and driven 
Production Manager

. This is a pivotal position for an experienced professional with hands-on technical expertise in CNC and stone cutting machinery. Your deep material knowledge will help optimise production, reduce waste, and maintain the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee production planning, scheduling and fabrication, with a strong focus on quality control.

Ensure all machinery is clean, well-maintained and fully operational to maximise uptime.

Develop and deliver a clear, proactive maintenance programme.

Establish operational KPIs and ensure machine effectiveness is measured and optimised.

Capture actual fabrication times to refine costing and quoting accuracy.

Work closely with other departments to ensure transparent planning and clear updates for customers.

Drive best practices in Health & Safety, working with the Head of Operations and external partners to continually improve standards.

Develop robust scheduling methods to provide full visibility across the business.

Coordinate with other teams to align planning with material availability, templates and drawings.

Implement clear systems for template storage, labelling and booking to enhance efficiency.

Monitor and manage machine time to maximise throughput and technical capabilities.

Review and act on KPIs for each machine in partnership with the Head of Operations.

Assess drawings at quote stage for technical viability and quality assurance.

Develop workflow processes and quality control checks to maintain exemplary standards.

Build and deliver training programmes to upskill the team and support flexible working across production areas.

Lead by example, setting clear standards of accountability, responsibility and high performance.

Identify opportunities for improvement and work with senior leadership to implement new practices.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of Health & Safety in a production setting; risk assessment and management.

Proven experience in planning and production scheduling.

Highly IT proficient, with excellent organisational skills and keen attention to detail.

Quality-focused with a strategic, solutions-driven mindset.

A confident, clear communicator and natural team leader.

Adaptable and resilient, able to respond to changing demands.

Collaborative, team-oriented and committed to upholding high standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Significant experience managing a multi-disciplined production facility.

In-depth knowledge of stone fabrication processes and materials.

Demonstrated leadership in a busy, growth-focused environment, with experience implementing positive change.
