Drive Artistic Excellence & Departmental Growth at a Reputable Independent Cambridge School (September 2025 Start - Strong KS5 Focus, Potential TLR & Competitive Pay)

Are you a highly effective and results-oriented Art Teacher with a profound understanding of diverse artistic practices and a demonstrable track record of securing exceptional progress at A-Level? Our reputable independent school in the culturally rich city of Cambridge is seeking a dedicated specialist to inspire and guide our students to unparalleled success in their Art & Design studies from Key Stage 3 to A-Level, commencing in September 2025. This pivotal role offers competitive independent school remuneration and the potential for a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR), recognising your expertise and contribution.

In this crucial full-time role, with a significant focus on Key Stage 5 (A-Level Art & Design), you will:

* Maximise Student Achievement: Be instrumental in ensuring excellent student outcomes in Key Stage 3, GCSE Art, and particularly A-Level Art, equipping them with the sophisticated conceptual, practical, and critical skills required for top university and art college placements.

* Lead Advanced Studio Practice: Design and oversee challenging artistic projects, ensuring students develop advanced techniques across a range of media and meet the rigorous demands of A-Level coursework and portfolios.

* Deliver Engaging and Rigorous Curriculum: Utilise your expertise to deliver meticulously structured and challenging lessons that align with the demands of the A-Level Art curriculum, fostering deep understanding of art history, theory, and contemporary practice.

* Motivate and Support High Achievers: Work with highly academic and artistically talented students, including those aspiring to prestigious art schools, providing the necessary extension and support to enable them to excel in all aspects of the subject.

* Collaborate within a Strong Art Department: Join a supportive and experienced team that shares best practices and works collaboratively to achieve departmental goals, including the successful delivery of a high-quality A-Level Art programme that challenges and excites students.

* Champion Creative Pathways: Inspire students to pursue further studies and careers in fine art, design, architecture, fashion, and other creative industries, leveraging Cambridge's vibrant cultural environment.

* (Potential TLR): Take on leadership responsibilities, such as leading the A-Level Art curriculum, mentoring less experienced staff, or developing links with local galleries and artists.

We're seeking a teacher with a demonstrable track record of achieving positive student progress and strong examination results in Art & Design across all relevant key stages. A passion for your subject, strong practical and conceptual skills, and the ability to inspire and lead within a high-achieving environment are essential. If you possess the skills, dedication, and ambition to help our students achieve artistic mastery in Cambridge and contribute to departmental leadership, we invite you to apply for a September 2025 start.

Shape future artists and lead in Cambridge – a key role with a focus on KS5 excellence, a potential TLR, and competitive independent school pay awaits
