About the Role:
Are you an experienced and resilient teacher looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs? We are working with a specialist school in Liverpool seeking a passionate SEMH Teacher to join their dedicated and nurturing team.
You'll be working with small groups of pupils who require tailored support due to behavioural challenges, anxiety, trauma, or other mental health-related barriers to learning. Your role will be to inspire, engage, and support them in both academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver a creative and differentiated curriculum to meet individual learning needs
Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Manage behaviour effectively using restorative and trauma-informed approaches
Develop positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Track and assess pupil progress, both academically and socially/emotionally
Contribute to wider school life and intervention strategies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (mainstream or specialist settings)
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
A nurturing, adaptable, and empathetic teaching approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of pupils
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
