We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a 5-bed Ofsted-registered children’s home in the West Midlands, supporting up to 3 children aged 10 and over with low to medium support needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a small, child-centred service with full backing from an established provider.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the home
* Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
* Register with Ofsted as the home’s Registered Manager
* Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding practices
* Build and lead a skilled, trauma-informed staff team
* Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the home
* Liaise with local authorities, social workers, and other key professionals
* Foster a warm, therapeutic environment focused on development, safety, and independence
* Monitor and evaluate care delivery, ensuring continuous improvement
* Assist with budget planning and resource allocation in collaboration with the provider
Experience & Requirements:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care within the last 5 years
* At least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and child development
* Experience supporting children with low to medium emotional, behavioural, or learning needs
* Confident in working with multi-agency teams and leading inspections
