Project Manager (Water Sector – Severn Trent Region)
Contract: 18–24 Months (Inside IR35) | Permanent Considered
Location: Near Welsh Border – Severn Trent Region (Waste Water Site, Cropthorn)
Reporting to: Senior Project Manager
Contract Type: Inside IR35 Contract (18–24 months) or Permanent
The Role
You will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of a multi-disciplinary water infrastructure project. From early planning and design through to commissioning and handover, you will work closely with engineering teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to deliver a high-quality and safe solution – on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality standards on site
Implement and ensure adherence to the Business Management System (BMS)
Lead stakeholder communication and maintain strong client relationships
Manage project plans and execution strategies including PEP development
Monitor construction methods, site setup, and method statements
Oversee contract documentation, non-conformance reporting, and cost control
Ensure commercial performance, forecasts, and reporting are proactively managed
Contribute to governance reviews, CDM compliance, and technical assurance
Motivate and support delivery teams to meet project KPIs
Engage in continuous professional development and represent the company professionally
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential:
Proven project management experience in delivering design & build schemes, ideally in the water or wastewater sector
Degree or equivalent qualification in construction, engineering, or commercial disciplines
Recognised Project Management Qualification (e.g., PMQ, APM)
Strong understanding of NEC or IChemE contracts and commercial negotiation
Skilled in risk management, programme delivery, and team leadership
Effective communicator – written, visual, and verbal – with clients and partners
Working knowledge of CDM, Health & Safety, and environmental compliance
Desirable Attributes
Familiarity with Severn Trent frameworks or AMP delivery programmes
Experience presenting at internal governance or steering committees
Collaborative mindset with a commitment to innovation and sustainability
