Aspire People are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the leafy suburbs of Droylsden, Greater Manchester, to recruit a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their well-regarded SEND team.
This is a full-time role starting in September 2025, with the opportunity to start earlier in July for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be supporting students across two key areas:
- Within the school's SEN-specific classrooms, assisting with targeted interventions
- In mainstream classrooms, supporting pupils with additional needs to break down any barriers to learning so they can access the curriculum and reach their full potential
This role would be a great fit for:
- An experienced SEN Teaching Assistant seeking a long-term or permanent position
- A recent graduate who has completed their studies and has aspirations of a career in educational psychology, teaching, or becoming a SENCO in the future
The school is looking for someone who has experience supporting students with a diverse range of needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Complex needs
- Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)
- English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Ideally, you'll also have experience:
- Delivering targeted intervention sessions to close learning gaps
- Supporting students through 1:1 or small group tutoring
- Assisting with personalised learning programmes
