Design Manager

Walker & Sloan is recruiting a Design Manager for our esteemed client based in Bristol. The role involves overseeing the design process for 2-3 live projects, supporting site teams, and ensuring that all design deliverables meet project requirements and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the design team on live projects, ensuring efficient design delivery.

* Support site teams in managing the design process.

* Create and monitor Design Information Required Schedules (IRS).

* Develop and communicate the Design Responsibility Matrix (DRM).

* Review design information on the A-Site document control platform.

* Resolve technical queries with the design team.

* Ensure compliance with contractor proposals and employer requirements.

* Identify and implement value engineering options.

* Participate in pre-construction tenders to assess design solutions and risks.

* Chair design team meetings and produce minutes.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience as a Design Manager in construction.

* Strong understanding of design processes.

* Proficiency with design/document control software, including A-Site.

* Excellent organizational and project management skills.

* Strong communication and leadership abilities.

* Experience in value engineering
