The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining optimal supply plans to meet demand forecasts, minimize inventory costs, and ensure high levels of customer service. This role involves extensive data analysis, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and leveraging advanced Excel skills to model scenarios, track performance, and drive strategic supply chain initiatives.
Description
The role of Production Planning Manager will be responsible for:
Develop and execute comprehensive supply plans (including production, procurement, and distribution) to align with demand forecasts and business objectives.
Monitor and manage inventory levels across various locations (e.g., raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods) to optimize stock holding, reduce obsolescence, and prevent stockouts.
Collaborate closely with Demand Planning, Sales, and Marketing teams to understand demand drivers, promotional activities, and new product introductions.
Coordinate with Production to develop and maintain production schedules that align with supply plans and optimize manufacturing efficiency.
Develop and maintain complex Excel models for inventory optimization, capacity planning, cost analysis, and scenario planning.
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the supply chain and contribute to the implementation of new tools and methodologiesProfile
Ideally, the successful candidate will come from the following background:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in production planning / supply planning / materials planning management, ideally within an FMCG or fast paced manufacturing environment
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is essential.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Job Offer
The role of Production Planning Manager will offer:
£40,000-£55,000 basic salary dependant upon experience
