Deputy Manager – Adult Social Care Services
Location: Hetton-le-hole
Salary: £15.17hr
Hours: Full-time (including weekends and participation in the on-call rota)
Reports to: Service Manager

Our client is looking for a Deputy Manager who will lead by example, inspire excellence, and help set the tone for a supportive, compassionate and inclusive service culture. What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead by example: Support your Service Manager to set a positive, values-driven culture where both staff and service users can thrive.
* Empower individuals: Ensure everyone receives high-quality, person-centred, outcome-focused care and support that reflects their needs, goals, and preferences.
* Support the team: Oversee staff recruitment, training, appraisals, supervision, and performance, while promoting continuous improvement and accountability.
* Quality assurance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, conduct audits, and maintain high-quality, accurate records and care plans.
* Health & safety: Lead on safeguarding, risk assessments, inspections, and ensure staff and service users are safe and supported at all times.
* Budget awareness: Work with your Service Manager to monitor budgets, manage rotas, and ensure effective use of resources.
* Be a key contact: Build strong relationships with external agencies, professionals, regulators, and families to promote transparent and collaborative support.
* Respond effectively: Take the lead on incidents, complaints, and audits to ensure resolution and continuous learning.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
* Proven experience in a senior or team leader role within health or social care
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, care planning, and regulatory compliance
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Confidence in managing staff and leading a team
* Strong organisational, problem-solving, and coaching abilities
* Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends and on-call
Desirable:
* NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
* Experience with multi-disciplinary teams and regulators
* Full UK driving licence
