Nursery Room Leader – Full-Time / Permanent

Location: Bishop’s Stortford
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm (with one half-day per week: 8am–2pm or 2pm–6pm)

Are you an experienced and qualified early years professional ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a passionate Nursery Room Leader to join our warm and welcoming setting in Bishop’s Stortford.

About the Role:

As a Nursery Room Leader, you’ll be responsible for leading a room team to deliver high-quality care and education for children aged 0–5 years. You'll help create a stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support a team of practitioners within your room

Plan and implement engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework

Promote a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported

Monitor and track children's development and progress

Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and your team

Ensure compliance with safeguarding and health & safety procedures

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (e.g. CACHE, NVQ, NNEB)

At least 1–2 years of experience in a Room Leader, Senior Practitioner, or similar leadership role in a nursery or early years setting

Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework

A caring, professional, and enthusiastic attitude

Excellent communication and organisational skills

A proactive, team-focused mindset
