Teaching Assistant | Year 5/6 – Workington
Humly is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a primary school on a temporary basis.
This is a full-time role starting 13 April 2026 and continuing until 17 July 2026, covering the full Summer term. The role involves supporting pupils within a Year 5/6 classroom, working alongside the class teacher to help deliver engaging lessons and ensure all pupils are supported to reach their potential. This position would suit a caring, proactive individual who enjoys supporting upper Key Stage 2 pupils and contributing to a positive classroom environment.
What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting pupils within a Year 5/6 classroom during lessons and activities
*
Assisting the class teacher with the preparation and delivery of learning activities
*
Providing small group support to reinforce learning and understanding
*
Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom
*
Helping pupils build confidence, independence, and positive relationships
*
Supporting the overall classroom environment to ensure pupils feel supported and motivated

Experience working in a primary school or classroom support role

Confidence supporting Upper Key Stage 2 pupils

A patient, supportive, and encouraging approach with children

Strong communication and teamwork skills when working with teaching staff

Pay
£13.70 per hour
