Contracts Engineer – Piling (Short-Term Projects, South West)

Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Contracts Engineer to support several upcoming piling projects across the South West of England. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong piling experience who is confident managing multiple sites and ensuring technical and compliance standards are met.

The Projects

You will be supporting three short-term schemes, including:

A project launching in Marlborough, Wiltshire 

A short-duration piling project in Bristol scheduled for January

Some lodge opportunities in Surrey for a quicker start

These works include CFA piling on two projects and dry rotary bored piling on the third.

Key Responsibilities

Taking full responsibility for the engineering and technical oversight of piling works

Managing projects alongside site managers and supervisors following a handover

Ensuring compliance with design, sustainability requirements, QA processes, and industry standards

Supporting efficient delivery without carrying out setting-out duties

Providing clear communication and coordination across teams and stakeholders

Maintaining accurate documentation and managing project progress

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced specifically in piling engineering (CFA/rotary bored preferred)

Mobile and willing to travel across South West project locations

Comfortable managing projects independently after a structured handover

Strong on technical assurance, compliance, and documentation

Able to coordinate effectively with site teams and supervisors

A proactive problem-solver who can step into short-term/temporary assignments confidently
