OLG Recruitment are currently looking for a Technologists for our client located in Scunthorpe. This is a full-time permanent position.

As a Technologist you will act as the technical conscience of the site – using data to identify trends, present performance insights and drive continuous improvement. You will support the resolution of quality issues and develop proactive solutions that directly impact our customers. This is a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. With a diverse product range and rapidly evolving market demands – particularly in the automotive sector – you’ll enjoy a role where no two days are the same. You'll also work closely with clients across oil & gas, construction, consumer goods, mining, fencing and industrial wire industries, giving you the chance to grow your technical expertise and industry knowledge.

You will ideally hold a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Materials Science, Engineering, or a Physical Science discipline. Just as important is your commitment to learning and self-development in a practical, production-based setting.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

Metallurgical testing methods and standards

Continuos improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma)

Quality management systems, especially IATF/TS 16949

Skills & Attributes

We’re looking for someone with strong numeracy skills and a solid understanding of statistical analysis, who enjoys working with data to identify trends and drive improvement. A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving is essential, as is the ability to think critically and respond effectively to challenges.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key to success in this role. You should be comfortable collaborating across teams, influencing decisions, and clearly presenting technical information in a structured and accessible way.

A strong customer focus is also important – we need someone who can confidently represent the customer’s perspective within the Mill and help ensure we consistently meet high standards. If you're organised, self-motivated, and able to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving environment, you'll thrive in this position.
