Engineering Manager Opportunity
Location: Site based- Lincoln Fresh Site- LN4 1NJ, Branston, Lincoln
Shift: Monday-Friday 08:00-17:00
Salary Range: Up to £86,530 per annum DOE
Are you a results-driven leader with a passion for problem-solving and motivating teams to deliver high-quality maintenance services? We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team at our Lincoln Fresh site.
As Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across our engineering function. You’ll bring a strategic mindset and hands-on leadership to deliver continuous improvement through TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance), and project planning. Your analytical approach will help optimise performance and drive efficiency across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, develop, and support the Engineering Team, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and high performance.
* Oversee maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and resolving issues promptly.
* Collaborate closely with the Production Team to implement maintenance strategies that support operational goals.
* Build strong internal and external working relationships to support cross-functional problem-solving and efficiency gains.
* Manage department budgets, including labour, contractors, tooling, consumables, and overtime.
* Monitor and report on performance metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and downtime, using data-driven insights to drive improvements.
* Present and benchmark departmental activities, highlighting the financial impact of engineering strategies.
What We’re Looking For:
* A confident and collaborative leader with excellent communication skills.
* Proven experience in engineering or maintenance leadership, ideally within a manufacturing or food production environment.
* A strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies.
* Financial acumen to manage budgets and assess the return on maintenance investments.
* A hands-on approach to team management, with a passion for coaching and career development.
* Experience in the FMCG sector, ideally in food or fresh produce, as an Engineering Manager
* Strategic thinking, planning & implementation
* Experience influencing Exec level stakeholders.
* A passion for developing people and continuous improvement
* Allocation of duties to the Maintenance Team and Maintenance Manager, ensuring the work is carried out in a safe, timely and professional manner.
* Development and control of a preventative maintenance programme.
* To support the Production Department by providing a trained resource to participate in routine problem resolution meetings.
