We are currently working with a warm, inclusive primary school in the Goring/Worthing area that is seeking a committed Individual Needs Assistant to join their team this September. About the Role – What You’ll Be Doing:
As an Individual Needs Assistant, you will be providing 1:1 or small group support to children who require additional help with learning, emotional regulation, or behaviour. Your role will be instrumental in helping pupils engage confidently in the classroom and feel included in all aspects of school life.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting children with special educational needs to access learning activities and the wider curriculum
Assisting with emotional regulation and helping to develop positive behaviour strategies
Encouraging independence and boosting pupils’ self-esteem and confidence
Collaborating closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement and adapt support plans
Providing consistent and nurturing support throughout the school day, including at breaktimes and during enrichment activities such as Beach School
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children with additional needs, or a relevant qualification (desirable)
A calm, patient, and encouraging approach
A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting emotional wellbeing
Strong teamwork and communication skills
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
