Pin Point Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading food manufacturing business in their search for an Assistant Quality/Technical Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented quality professional to join a forward-thinking company committed to excellence in compliance, quality control, and food safety standards.
Reporting directly to the Technical/Quality Manager, this role plays a critical part in ensuring that quality systems and food safety standards are maintained across the business, supporting production and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assistant Quality/Technical Manager Job Role:
* Perform sampling and QC analysis of incoming raw materials, ensuring all specifications and certificates (CoA, CoC) are collated and compliant.
* Coordinate microbiological testing and track/trend results, ordering retests and submitting samples as required.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and accreditation bodies including BRC, Halal, Kosher, and Organic certifications.
* Conduct GMP audits, internal systems audits, and contribute to trend analysis and continuous improvement.
* Verify production documentation pre-issue and conduct in-process QC checks and environmental swabbing.
* Perform verification checks on metal detectors, labels, and cleaning chemical concentrations.
* Complete post-production reviews including finished product sampling and analysis.
* Support and deputise for the Technical/Quality Manager during periods of absence.
* Assist in the Supplier Approval Process and actively contribute as a member of the HACCP team.
* Ensure compliance with customer requirements for product testing and certification.
* Maintain records of non-conformances and lead investigations into root causes and corrective actions.
Assistant Quality/Technical Manager Skills Required:
* Previous experience in a Senior Quality Assurance or Technical role within the food manufacturing industry.
* Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and food safety management systems.
* Attention to detail and an analytical approach to data and documentation.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.
