Wire Harness Technician

Our client based in Swindon is currently seeking a Wire Harness Technician to join their growing team! This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic environment, working on high-quality cable harness assemblies.

Wire Harness Technician Roles and Responsibilities:

* Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings

* Cut, strip, crimp, and solder wires to assemble harnesses in line with technical specifications

* Install connectors, lugs, and protective components as per design requirements

* Perform continuity and electrical testing on finished harnesses using appropriate test equipment

* Inspect completed products to ensure compliance with quality standards, resolving any identified faults

* Maintain accurate documentation of assembly steps, materials used, and testing results

* Provide suggestions for process or design improvements

* Carry out routine maintenance of tools and equipment used in the assembly process

* Follow all company procedures, including health and safety protocols

* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment, ensuring the correct use of PPE at all times

Wire Harness Technician Ideal Candidate:

* Minimum 2 years of experience in cable or wire harness assembly

* Confident in reading and working from wiring diagrams and schematics

* Skilled in soldering, crimping, and using a variety of connectors and hand tools

* Experience with testing equipment such as multimeters and continuity testers

* Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD, and COPS standards is highly desirable

Wire Harness Technician Working Hours and Benefits:

* Monday – Thursday, 08:00 – 16:30

* Friday, 08:00 – 13:00
