Principal Sustainability Consultant

We are excited to be representing a leading engineering consultancy recognised for delivering intelligent, sustainable, and people-focused solutions across the built environment. They are looking to appoint an innovative and driven Principal Sustainability Consultant to join their thriving Sustainability discipline in Cardiff.

Duties of a Principle Sustainability Consultant:

Lead sustainability workstreams and act as Discipline Project Lead.
Develop and coordinate project resource plans.
Deliver sustainability documents for planning applications.
Lead client and design team workshops with clarity and confidence.
Delegate, manage, and review the work of junior colleagues.
Undertake or oversee:
Part L, Part O, overheating and energy simulations
Environmental and wellbeing assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM)
Whole life carbon assessments
Net zero carbon strategies
Operational energy analysis
Support Technical Excellence communities and contribute to knowledge development.
Mentor and train junior team members across technical, consultancy, and project delivery skills.Requirements of a Principle Sustainability Consultant:

Advanced building performance simulation (Part L, Part O, thermal comfort).
Leadership of sustainability workstreams and project teams.
Training and mentoring experience.
Delivery of environmental and wellbeing assessments.
Whole life carbon assessment (ideally using OneClick LCA).
Experience supporting successful planning applications, with Cardiff and London market experience advantageous.
