Tax Assistant / Tax Senior

Our client a well-established firm of small Chartered Accountants, tax and business advisers based in central Cheltenham. Serving a diverse portfolio of clients across the UK including business owners, high-net-worth individuals, sole traders, and partnerships they pride themselves on delivering a high-quality, personal service.
As a growing practice, they looking to expand the team with the addition of a Tax Assistant or Tax Senior, depending on experience. This is a great opportunity for someone with UK accountancy practice experience in personal tax who is seeking flexibility and career growth in a small supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients
Preparing self-assessment tax returns in line with HMRC regulations
Liaising with clients and HMRC to resolve tax matters and queries
Supporting with HMRC enquiries and correspondence
Maintaining accurate records and meeting filing deadlines
Using tax software (e.g. Digita or similar)
About You
1–2 years’ experience in personal tax within a UK accountancy practice
Good interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach
Highly organised, confident and detail-oriented
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A-levels (or equivalent) with good Maths and English GCSEs
Experience managing a varied workload and meeting deadlines
Studying ATT is welcomed, but not essential (exam support available)
