Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEND TAs) to work across a variety of mainstream and specialist schools in the Hillingdon area.

Whether you're an experienced practitioner or looking to take your first steps into SEND support, this is a fantastic opportunity to work flexibly while making a real impact.

About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, including:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)

ADHD

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)

Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to aid learning and development

Assisting the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment

Using communication tools such as PECs, Makaton, or visual timetables (training desirable but not essential)

Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (school-based or otherwise)

A caring, patient and empathetic approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
