We are seeking a motivated and skilled Transport Planner to join our client’s growing team in Birmingham. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a transport professional with 2–5 years’ experience to contribute to a variety of transport planning and infrastructure projects across the UK.

Role Overview

The Transport Planner will support the planning, design, and delivery of transport schemes for both public and private sector clients. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of transport assessments, travel plans, junction modelling, and sustainable transport strategies, working collaboratively with engineers, planners, and local authorities.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review transport assessments, statements, and travel plans
Undertake junction capacity modelling using software such as Junctions, LinSig, or VISSIM
Contribute to the development of transport strategies and sustainable mobility solutions
Liaise effectively with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams
Support senior colleagues with project management and delivery tasksCandidate Requirements:

Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related discipline
2–5 years’ experience in transport planning or development planning
Working knowledge of transport modelling and planning tools (e.g. TRICS, Junctions, LinSig)
Strong analytical, written, and communication skills
A proactive, problem-solving approach and an interest in sustainable transport solutionsBenefits:
