Our client a dynamic organisation based in Egham, Surrey are looking for a highly organised and professional (Logistics) Key Account Operator to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have worked in a customer focused operational role within the shipping / freight logistics industry and have professional customer service and relationship building skills.
Day to day duties for the Key Account Operator includes: -
* Obtaining rates and quoting all modes of transport (international and domestic).
* Executing outbound, inbound and cross-trade shipments in a consistent and efficient manner.
* Liaising with suppliers, airlines and shipping lines.
* Receiving, put-away, pulling and dispatching inventory in the WMS.
* Booking air, ocean, road and courier shipments with carriers.
* Completion of export and import customs entries.
* Email and telephone correspondence with overseas agents, UK client and internally.
* Tracking shipments and keeping the customer updated throughout.
* Raising Invoices an ensuring PO numbers are referenced.
* Passing supplier and overseas agents’ invoices.
* Communication with the clients and customers updating them with progress of day-to-day operations, notifying of any delays and providing solutions.
* Ensuring internal SOP’s are followed correctly and KPI’s are met.
* Resolving queries efficiently and professionally.
* Producing required export / import documentation.
* Building rapport with customers and internal departments.
* Ensuring CargoWise data is accurate and up to date.
* Assisting with monthly storage billing for global warehouse locations.
* Maintaining warehouse inventory reports.
As the Key Account Manager, you will need:-
* Relevant logistics / shipping Industry experience is essential.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word.
* To be open-minded, eager to learn and solutions focussed.
* Calm and professional under pressure.
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Empathetic approach and strong customer focus.
* Ability to converse with clients, suppliers and colleagues in a professional manner.
* CargoWise experience would be a distinct advantage.
In return for your hard work, our client offers a salary of £35,000 - £40,000pa along with a great range of company benefits and career opportunities.
The working hours for this role are 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
