Science Teacher needed for an ASD School in Windlesham, Surrey

ASD Specialist School (Ages 7–16 | Years 5–11) 

Start Date: April

We are seeking a dedicated and patient Science Teacher to join a welcoming and specialist ASC school in Windlesham, Surrey, supporting students aged 7–16 across Key Stages 2, 3, and 4 (Years 5–11). This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and skilled in adapting teaching to meet the needs of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition.

About the Role

As a Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and accessible Science lessons to small classes, supporting pupils with a range of cognitive, social, and sensory needs. Teaching will span upper KS2 through to GCSE level, depending on experience and pupil ability. The successful candidate will use structured, clear teaching approaches and foster a calm, predictable learning environment where pupils can thrive academically and emotionally.

This role starts in April and offers a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to young people’s learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver differentiated Science lessons for pupils in Years 5–11

Teach Science up to GCSE level, adapting content to meet individual learning needs

Use autism-informed strategies to support engagement, communication, and regulation

Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment

Work collaboratively with SEN staff, therapists, and support teams

Monitor progress and adapt teaching to support positive outcomes

Encourage curiosity, confidence, and independence in learners

About You

Qualified Science Teacher (QTS or equivalent)

Experience teaching Science across primary and/or secondary age ranges

Calm, consistent, and highly adaptable teaching style

Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, autism-specific approaches

Experience in an ASD school or SEN setting is desirable but not essential

Passionate about inclusive and child-centred education
