Job Description:

This dynamic, ambitious and innovative signage business are looking for a signage Project Draughtsperson to join their successful team. They are growth-focused, with a strong team ethos. This is a hybrid role.

The role requires the Draughtsperson to produce accurate, detailed technical drawings and manufacturing/production-ready files for signage projects.

The successful person will take client or internal briefs, interpret designs and site surveys, and translate them into 2D and 3D CAD and graphics files to enable the smooth manufacture and installation of the project. Quality, consistency, and compliance is key for this role.

The Draughtsperson will work with the sales, estimating, production, and installation teams to ensure drawings meet both design intent and manufacturability.

You will be based within the main office, which is new, light and spacious though this can be a hybrid role. There will also be occasional travel to customer locations for meetings and deadlines.

The Draughtsperson will work closely with senior colleagues, site teams, and clients to deliver outstanding results.

Main Responsibilities:

* Produce and revise 2D CAD drawings (e.g. AutoCAD) from client briefs, site surveys, and internal designs.

* Create 3D drawings or models (using relevant 3D CAD/modelling software) to aid manufacture, installation, and client visualisation.

* Prepare manufacturing drawings: detail dimensions, material specifications, joining/assembly details, sheet-metal layouts, fixtures, and fastening points.

* Generate graphics/artwork files as needed (e.g. for print, vinyl, illuminated signage), liaising with graphics/design department.

* Set up CNC/laser/router programs/templates/tooling layouts based on drawings.

* Check and amend “as built” drawings or client “rod”/reference files, ensuring accurate fit and installation allowances.

* Ensure drawings meet company quality standards: clarity, consistency, correct tolerances, scalable for manufacture.

* Maintain drawing file organisation, version control, and document management.

* Collaborate with production, installation, and project management teams to clarify details, resolve issues and ensure drawing output supports efficient build and install.

* Support the continuous improvement of company processes and systems

Experience

Essential:

* Experience specifically in signage or cladding projects (bespoke signage, illuminated signage, architectural signage).

* Proficient in 2D CAD (e.g. AutoCAD) with demonstrable experience in technical drawing for signage.

* Skills in 3D CAD/modelling (e.g. Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar) to produce detailed models.

* Familiarity with graphics/design software (for example CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, or equivalents) where signage artwork is involved.

* Good understanding of materials, manufacturing/fabrication processes, especially sheet metal work, CNC, laser/routing etc.

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy: ability to work with precise dimensions, tolerances, and assembly details.

* Good communication skills: able to work with project managers, production/installation teams, and clients to clarify drawings and resolve issues.

* Ability to manage multiple drawings/projects concurrently and deliver to deadlines.

* Good file/version control practices; organised and process driven.

* Ability to ensure work is carried out to a high standard with good accuracy and attention to detail.
