Zenith are delighted to be partnering with a long‑established, highly respected North‑East manufacturer as they continue to strengthen their engineering team. We’re recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to join the business on a permanent basis — a fantastic opportunity to work with modern production equipment in a fast‑moving, supportive environment.

About the Role

As a key member of the maintenance team, you’ll play a proactive role in keeping the plant running smoothly. You’ll be hands‑on with a wide range of production machinery, ensuring equipment is reliable, safe, and continuously improving.

What You’ll Be Doing

*

Diagnosing and resolving faults on a variety of production equipment

*

Carrying out planned maintenance in line with the CMMS schedule

*

Working closely with Production Technicians and Engineers to keep operations running efficiently

*

Completing detailed shift logs to support smooth handovers and future improvements

*

Supporting commissioning, development, and optimisation of new and existing machinery

*

Taking part in overtime when required

*

Performing any additional duties aligned with the role as needed

What We’re Looking For - Qualifications & Training

*

Time‑served with a minimum BTEC ONC qualification (essential)

*

Willingness to undertake further training and development

*

Ability to contribute to the ongoing improvement of PPM systems

Experience & Skills

*

At least two years’ post‑apprenticeship experience in a similar maintenance role

*

Strong understanding of electro‑pneumatic, PLC‑controlled machinery

*

Experience within FMCG or similar fast‑paced environments

*

Ability to machine to <0.1mm tolerances using lathes/milling machines

*

Multi‑skilled with either a mechanical or electrical bias

*

Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities

*

Confident working independently or as part of a team

*

Able to perform effectively under pressure

Working Hours

You’ll work a continental shift pattern (6am–6pm / 6pm–6am) on a 4‑week rotation, averaging 42 hours per week with every other weekend off — offering a great balance of work and downtime.
