Support teaching and learning by adapting tasks, scaffolding understanding, and celebrating every step of progress.

Promote emotional literacy and resilience through consistent routines, encouragement, and positive reinforcement.

Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENDCo, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure each pupil receives the right support.

Champion safeguarding and wellbeing, always putting the needs and safety of pupils first.

Calm, patient, and able to build strong, trusting relationships

Resilient and positive, even on challenging days

Skilled at working as part of a team and following structured support plans

Committed to helping every child achieve their potential

Essential Skills and Experience

Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs (in mainstream, alternative, or specialist settings)

Understanding of trauma-informed, restorative, or nurture-based approaches

Awareness of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Desirable (but not essential)

Qualifications in Teaching and Learning Support, Childcare, Youth Work, or Mental Health
