Axon Moore are working with a leading provider of maintenance and support services, to appoint an experienced Management Accountant. Based in their Manchester office, we are seeking an exceptional CIMA/ACCA part-qualified candidate to join its facilities division as a Finance Lead. This organisation partners with some of the UK and Europe’s most recognised businesses and is experiencing consistent growth, leading to this newly created position. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to advance their career in accounting within a dynamic and expanding team.
This role will provide the opportunity to be mentored by a high calibre Finance Manager with study support to become qualified. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the operational team within the business unit; business partnering to collaborate and challenge financial performance. This is a chance to be a key finance contact and progression to Finance Manager could be available in as soon as 18-months to 2 years.
Salary and benefits:

Responsibilities include:
Drive Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate monthly reports, forecasts, and annual plans including full P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and project profitability analysis.
Support the preparation and ongoing monitoring of annual plans, budgets, forecasts, and balance sheet/cash flow projections, while analysing performance trends and identifying risks and opportunities.
Work closely with internal teams such as Contracts, Finance, Operations and FP&A. Collaborate to meet reporting deadlines, develop finance commentary, and deliver ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Foster Strong Client Relationships: Develop high-quality, effective relationships with clients and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted business partner and responding to requests with professionalism and credibility.
Enhance Performance Visibility: Participate in contract/project reviews and site visits, focusing on under-performance, while leveraging Power BI to deliver high-quality management information internally and to our clients.
Continuously review and improve financial performance, including cash flow, margins, reporting, and P&L results, while driving savings opportunities and managing overhead efficiencies to meet targets.
Build strong relationships with business leaders, clients, support teams, and external agencies to communicate objectives, mitigate risks, and enhance overall business quality, service and efficiency.
Ensure consistent adherence to company policies, SOX controls, US GAAP, and compliance through thorough management of accounting records, procedures and ERP systems.
Drive efficiency and best practices by maximising system-generated reports, eliminating manual processes, and enhancing system integrity and financial data accuracy.
Manage contract compliance meticulously, coordinate with finance teams on reporting needs, and align deliverables across functions to support both our goals and client goals.
Recruit, develop, and manage a diverse, motivated team by conducting appraisals, creating personal and succession development plans, and supervising individual performance.
Communicate clearly to engage, empower, and influence team members, fostering responsibility, accountability, and collaborative decision-making.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA Accountant and active studier with experience in a Management Accounting role.
A degree or AAT qualification would be essential. Experience in transactional accounting would be highly beneficial.
Strong IT skills: Working with accounting systems and ERP systems. Excel skills to an intermediate/advanced level would be essential.
Confident and concise when liaising with key stakeholders across the business, able to influence and lead senior managers.
Self-motivated, ambitious and keen to progress. Committed to ongoing development and seeking out progression activities.
Strong in managing and prioritising workloads, ensuring that deadlines are met without compromising on quality.
Inquisitive with strong attention to detail, eager to learn and share ideas.
Adaptable and open to change in an ever-changing and evolving environment.
