Part-Time Bookkeeper – Innerleithen
1.5 Days Per Week (Flexible)
£24,000 – £28,000 FTE (Pro Rata)

We're recruiting on behalf of a growing local business in Innerleithen for a Part-Time Bookkeeper. This is an ideal role for someone looking for flexible work close to home, with hybrid options available.

The Role

You'll take ownership of the day-to-day financial tasks using Xero Accounting Software, supporting smooth financial operations.

Your Main Responsibilities

Reconcile bank accounts via Xero

*

Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding

*

Produce weekly accounts payable reports

*

Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns

*

Make sure PAYE payments are submitted on time

*

Assist with:

*

Monthly and year-end close

*

Shopify sales and payment reconciliation

*

Fixed asset register and depreciation

*

Prepayments, accruals, and salaries

*

Support with non-sterling payments and costing

*

Liaise with external accountants as needed

What We’re Looking For

*

Experience in a similar bookkeeping or finance role

*

Confident using Xero (or similar software)

*

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

*

Able to work independently and manage your own time

*

Bonus: Experience with Shopify or eCommerce systems
