About the Role
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our specialist school team, supporting children and young people aged 5–14 with varied complex learning needs.
Our pupils require individualised support with learning, communication and sensory needs within a structured and nurturing environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
Previous experience is not essential, as full training and ongoing professional development will be provided. This role is ideal for individuals looking to begin or progress a career in education, SEND, therapy or healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils in the classroom, in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
* Assist with learning activities adapted to meet individual needs, including sensory-based and play-based learning.
* Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
* Support pupils with communication and engagement in learning
Person Specification
Experience is desirable but not essential. We welcome applicants with transferable skills from backgrounds such as:
* Care or support work
* Healthcare roles
* Youth work or community support
* Nursery or childcare
* Education or classroom support
Full training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
