Our client is a building & engineering consultancy specialising in sustainable, low energy design, working within the Commercial, Domestic and Public sectors. Their vision is to provide a full range of design services, allied with the desire to make changes to achieve the government's net zero targets and benefit the environment. They are looking for a Building Physics Technical Manager who is passionate about creating carbon-neutral, sustainable and healthy building environments.

Location: Manchester area

Salary: £50K - £55K (depending on the experience) with the opportunity to earn an additional up to £15k commission

Purpose of the Role:

This is a great opportunity to join a small consultancy and become an integral part of a of business growth, where you can shape the role and make real changes to your team and overall business. As the Building Physics Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the development of the Low Energy Building Team and business growth through the delivery of successful Projects. You will manage, provide support, and mentor the teams of engineers. As the aim of this role, you will provide expert knowledge in Building Physics, in order to meet strategic company objectives, as well as maintaining strong client relationship.

Essential Skills and Experience:

* Previous experience in managing technical teams

* Experience working in a UK design consultancy in Building Physics in the building sector

* Degree in Environmental, Architecture, Sustainability or Building Services field

* Proficiency in Dynamic Energy Modelling (IES VE)

* Part L Calculations and Part O Overheating Calculations

Additional skills would be a great benefit:

* Heat Decarbonisation Planning (Public Sector PSDS)

* PassivHaus Principles and/or Design
