An inclusive and nurturing independent school near the Forest of Dean is seeking a passionate and skilled Food Technology Teacher to join its Design & Life Skills Faculty from September 2025. This full-time role will involve teaching KS3 and GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition and contributing to the school’s broader focus on healthy living, sustainability, and life skills.
The department has a custom-designed kitchen classroom with modern facilities, enabling you to teach a varied and practical programme. You’ll be encouraged to enrich the curriculum with garden-to-table experiences, local farm partnerships, and seasonal cooking workshops.
Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging food and nutrition lessons across KS3–KS4
*
Prepare students for GCSE assessments and controlled practical work
*
Promote healthy, sustainable food habits and cultural awareness
*
Lead food clubs, inter-house bake-offs, or hospitality events
Ideal Applicant:
*
Relevant Food/Nutrition or Home Economics degree + PGCE with QTS
*
Experience teaching GCSE Food Prep & Nutrition
*
Organised and creative with strong classroom management skills
*
Enthusiasm for involving the school community in food-based initiatives
