About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in North London. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering creativity, innovation, and practical skills in a well-equipped learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive DT lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.
Teach a range of DT specialisms such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, or textiles, depending on expertise.
Create a safe and stimulating classroom environment that encourages students to develop their practical and design thinking skills.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
Contribute to the wider school community, including participation in school events, clubs, and enrichment activities.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and progression across the DT curriculum.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
A degree in Design & Technology or a related subject.
Proven experience teaching DT at the secondary level is preferred.
Strong subject knowledge and up-to-date understanding of DT curriculum developments.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
