About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Classroom Assistant with British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 or 3 to join a dedicated team in a mainstream secondary school in Ellesmere Port. This role is perfect for someone who is confident using BSL and passionate about supporting pupils with hearing impairments.

You’ll play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, communicate effectively, and thrive in a safe, structured, and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide in-class support to pupils, including those who are Deaf or have hearing impairments

Use BSL to facilitate communication and understanding between pupils, staff, and peers

Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities

Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management

Help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment

Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals

Requirements
✅ BSL Level 2 or 3 qualification (essential)
✅ Proven experience working in an SEN or Deaf education setting (desirable)
✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Calm, patient, and resilient approach
✅ Ability to adapt to individual learning needs
✅ Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support (desirable)
