Recruiting for Business Manager (Depot Manager) to work for the UK’s leader in Environmental Solutions (Waste & Recycling), the Business Manager will manage their Oldham Recycling Depot, which, is a commercial recycling collections depot for Paper, Cardboard & Polythene.

The Business Manager will have overall responsibility for the safety, compliance, efficiency and financial performance of the depot. Be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the site operations, including financial management, business development, strategic planning, and team management. Deliver effective & safe services to maximum operational efficiency, within budget & to Company Standards.

Looking for a proactive, versatile and highly organised individual with proven experience of running busy depot in a demanding working environment. A team player with strong Management skills who is able to work well under pressure, prioritise, organise and meet deadlines; excellent communication & organisational skills along with the ability to liaise with people at all levels using good judgement and tact when dealing with sensitive matters.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Develop and manage the site budget, ensuring proper allocation of resources & utilisation of the most efficient disposal and recycling solutions. .

* Monitor financial performance, analyse financial reports, and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue growth.

* Devise and implement strategies to improve profitability and meet financial targets, whilst identifying new business opportunities, develop and implement plants to ex[and customer base

* Identify and implement initiatives to improve business performance and ecological transformation

* Formulate effective pricing strategies and negotiate contracts with customers.

* Foster relationships with key stakeholders, industry partners, and regulatory agencies to enhance business operations and market presence.

* Monitor the competitive landscape and develop strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

* Managing people & assets to deliver / exceed service expectations

* Delivering efficient & profitable solutions

* Driving innovation and change for customers

* Implementing & managing operations

* Working in close partnership with Local Sales Teams to maximise the potential for growth

* Providing clear, transparent & accurate reporting of business performance

* Delivering operational efficiencies through use of digital media, asset utilisation and cost control

* Understanding local market conditions, competitors & opportunities for growth

* Nominated Transport Manager 2 with overall responsibility for Fleet management

Looking for:

Business Manager / General Manager /Depot manager ideally with experience managing a busy recycling depot, will be Transport CPC qualified or equivalent experience managing logistics / fleet management in a busy transport depot. Will have people management experience with associated H&S & Management qualifications.

Strong understanding of waste management regulations, environmental sustainability, and waste disposal procedures would be a real advantage
