Location
Ideally based in Derby or York, with regular travel to Leeds and other TRU sites as required.

Role Overview
We have an urgent requirement for an experienced Deputy CRE-D (Geotechnical) to support the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU). The role requires an individual operating at Senior or Principal level, who is already signed off (or immediately sign-offable) as Deputy CRE-D (Geotechnical) under Network Rail standards.
You will provide technical assurance and leadership across geotechnical design and construction activities, supporting the CRE and wider multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
·Act as Deputy CRE-D (Geotechnical) in accordance with Network Rail governance.
·Provide technical assurance for geotechnical designs, assessments, and construction activities.
·Support the CRE in fulfilling statutory and delegated duties.
·Review and approve geotechnical deliverables to required standards.
·Interface with designers, contractors, and client stakeholders across TRU.
·Identify, manage, and mitigate geotechnical risks.
·Attend project, technical, and site meetings as required.

Essential Requirements
·Signed off as Deputy CRE-D (Geotechnical) (or able to be signed off immediately).
·Extensive experience on Network Rail rail infrastructure projects.
·Strong background in geotechnical engineering within complex rail environments.
·Operating at Senior or Principal Engineer level.
·Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and assurance processes.
·Ability to start within 4 weeks
