At Education Personnel, we are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of one of our fantastic partner primary schools for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant. This opportunity is based within a welcoming primary school in the Chesterfield area, where supporting pupils with additional needs is central to everyday practice.

As the SEN Teaching Assistant in this role, you will be an essential part of the school’s SEND provision. You will collaborate with class teachers, support staff, and families to ensure each child receives individualised support that reflects their unique strengths and needs. The school values professional growth and will actively encourage you to develop your skills and confidence in supporting pupils with a diverse range of additional needs.

Desirables and Expectations

Experience supporting pupils with SEN in a primary setting – desirable

Ability to work 1:1 or in small groups to deliver targeted interventions

*

Good understanding of strategies for supporting pupils with varied SEND needs, including social, emotional and learning differences

*

Strong communication skills for building positive relationships with colleagues, families, and external professionals

*

A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children

*

Confidence adapting activities and resources to meet individual learning needs

*

Commitment to maintaining high standards of behaviour, wellbeing and inclusion

*

Enthusiasm for contributing to the wider life of the school and promoting an inclusive environment
