Our client are seeking a results-driven Contract Logistics Manager to oversee the end-to-end management of a high-value logistics contract worth multiple millions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational and commercial performance of a fleet of around 15 trucks based on a customer’s site, ensuring efficient service delivery, compliance, and client satisfaction.
This is a pivotal role for a logistics professional with a proven track record in fleet and contract management. based across Leicestershire/Northamptonshire
Salary: £50k-£60k plus £500 per month car allowance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage daily logistics operations for a fleet of 15 trucks, ensuring on time delivery and optimal vehicle utilisation.
• Oversee the logistics contract, ensuring commercial performance targets and service level agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring strong stakeholder engagement and proactive issue resolution.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
• Ensure full compliance with all transport regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies.
• Manage and motivate a team of drivers and support staff, fostering a performance-driven culture.
• Monitor KPIs and generate regular reports on operational performance, financial's, and compliance.
• Liaise with maintenance teams to ensure fleet reliability and minimal downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations and customer service.
• Ensuring the financial budget set for the contract is achieved.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Proven experience in contract logistics, fleet management, or transport operations (minimum 3–5 years).
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing contracts valued at £1 million or more.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship management abilities.
• In-depth understanding of transport legislation and industry best practices.
• Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office tools.
• CPC qualification (National or International) is highly desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence
