Grounds Maintenance Team Leader

Our client delivers high-quality grounds maintenance services for local authorities and housing associations, maintaining parks and green open spaces. Their aim is to provide sustainable outcomes for the local communities in which they work through commitment, experience, and innovative service delivery.

They are currently seeking a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to join their team based in Woking.

Role Purpose

To carry out a wide range of landscaping and grounds maintenance duties, requiring a minimum level of supervision, while ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety, and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out hard and soft landscaping duties, including:

Fencing

Paving

Concreting

Play area repairs

Planting and staking of trees

Preparation and planting of:

Shrubberies

Hedges

Rose beds

Ground preparation for laying turf

Ditch works

General horticultural maintenance duties using hand tools and mechanical horticultural equipment

Digging, forking, hoeing, weeding, pruning, and mulching

Grass mowing using pedestrian mowers, strimmers, and blowers

Hedge cutting and pruning of shrubs and roses

Health, Safety & Compliance

A DBS check is required due to working in play areas and around vulnerable people

Ensure all materials and equipment are handled, used, and stored in line with company guidelines

Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times

Administration Duties

Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and on time, including:

Vehicle and machinery checks

Timesheets

Submit documentation within agreed timescales

What We're Looking For

Experience in grounds maintenance and landscaping

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Good understanding of health and safety procedures

Reliable, organised, and team-focused approach
